"A goal without a plan is just a wish."

"A goal without a plan is just a wish."

(Title borrowed from a quote by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry)

As one does, I'm always on the road to self-betterment both personally and professionally. This current project came about as I thought long and hard about my career goals. Every day I'm surrounded by fantastic agents who have ferried authors through their careers to become #1 bestsellers and award winners. What I want to achieve when I eventually become an agent, of course, includes bestselling books, however, one of the most important goals I have is to represent award-winnings authors. Authors whose work is held up as an example of the highest standard in writing.

With that in mind, I wondered how I could best set myself up to achieve this feat. I'm a life-long reader who is immersed in the goings-on of the industry, however, I didn't feel like that was enough. Therefore, I'm now working on reading every Newbery, Caldecott, and Printz award-winning or nominated book.

I'm inviting you to read as many (or as few) titles as you want along with me.

How's it going? Check out my progress so far. A (*) denotes titles that I really love-love-loved.
